Tatanagar Station Set for Passenger-Friendly Renovations by September End

Modernization spree at Tatanagar Station with new amenities, escalators, and restaurant-on-wheels set to ease passenger movement and experience by September’s end.

JAMSHEDPUR – Raghuvansh Kumar, the Station Director at Tatanagar Railway Station, has shared plans afoot on a range of new facilities set to be introduced at the station.

Kumar anticipates that the steady, rapid progress of these projects will significantly enhance the overall experience for passengers, making it easier for them to board trains and spend time at the station.

In a bid to ease congestion, a new third foot over bridge is under construction towards the Kharagpur end of the station.

This development is designed to combat the frequent rush at the station’s exit gate, typically caused by the simultaneous arrival of multiple trains.

Moreover, an escalator is being installed at the outer end of platform number four and on the new third foot over bridge.

Work is already underway on installing the second and third escalators on platform number one.

These escalators are located at the end of the foot over bridge that connects the platform to the second entrance gate on the Chakradharpur side.

Aiming for a completion date in the first week of September, these escalators are meant to simplify commuting, especially for the elderly and those with health conditions.

To add to the station’s aesthetics, 35 workers and artists are putting in tireless efforts to wrap up the renovations.

Tatanagar Station, which sees a daily flux of approximately 60,000 commuters with 45 pairs of passenger trains passing through, is also set to have a ‘restaurant-on-wheels’ by the end of September.

Positioned near the station’s second access gate, the construction of the restaurant’s kitchen has already commenced.
