Elephant Terrorizing Jharkhand-Bengal Border Dies En Route to Treatment

An elephant, responsible for several deaths on the Jharkhand-Bengal border, was sedated by officials but died while being transported for treatment.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a recent incident, an elephant that had been causing terror in the Jharkhand and Bengal border areas, including Baharagora and Chakulia, has died.

The elephant was found unconscious in the Kajla forest of Bengal after being sedated by the Bengal Forest Department, but it died while being transported for treatment.

This particular elephant had been linked to multiple fatalities in the region, with two people reported dead in the Jhargram district and another in West Medinipur district due to its attacks.

After being sedated in the Kajla forest, the unconscious elephant was blindfolded and taken to a tailor.

Unfortunately, the elephant did not survive the journey to the Junglemahal Zoological Park where it was meant to receive treatment.

According to sources from the Forest Department, a post-mortem will be conducted today.

The remains of the elephant will be cremated following the post-mortem.
