Activist Raises Crippling Water and Power Issues Plaguing Ghaghidih Central Jail in Jamshedpur, Appeals for Intervention

Social activist Aftab Siddiqui in Jamshedpur demands swift action to address severe water and electricity issues in Ghaghidih Central Jail.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur’s Ghaghidih Central Jail, currently housing 2000 inmates including women and children, is grappling with serious water and electricity issues, causing severe hardships for those within its walls.

Concerned citizens are now stepping forward to rectify these alarming conditions.

In an effort to provide immediate relief, water is currently being supplied via tankers, yet the ongoing lack of basic amenities has led to the conditions for inmates becoming unbearable.

Aftab Ahmed Siddiqui, representing the community’s concerns, recently approached the Deputy Commissioner’s office with a memorandum highlighting these dire issues.

The memorandum called for urgent action to rectify the water and electricity issues within the jail, warning that failure to do so could worsen the conditions for the prisoners.

The memorandum expressed the concern that if the situation remains unaddressed, it could lead to a grave humanitarian crisis within the Ghaghidih Central Jail.
