Kiranmayee Utsav honors late Kiranmayee Dey’s 100th birthday with year-long human service initiatives. Shekhar Dey leads tribute to his freedom fighter mother.
Jamshedpur: Shekhar Dey, the well-known social worker and a partner of Sreeleathers paid tributes to his mother Kiranmayee Dey on her centenary on Saturday. He also announced a slew of social initiatives to mark the day.
These human service initiatives would continue through the year.
Starting today, “Kiranmai Utsav,” a year-long series of human service initiatives, is being launched to honor the 100th birthday of the late Kiranmayee Dey.
Mr. Shekhar Dey said that Kiranmayee Dey was a symbol of indomitable courage, sacrifice, and strength.
She was a well-know freedom fighter and the wife of Suresh Chandra Dey, the founder of Sreeleathers.
She dedicated her life to supporting her husband’s ideals, fighting against the British, and working for the country.
Their son, Shekhar Dey, has carried forward their legacy, giving Sreeleathers a unique identity and always prioritizing human service.
To kick off Kiranmai Utsav, a breakfast event was held for 50 needy people at the Manav Samaj Kushtha Ashram in Jugsalai Police Station area of Jamshedpur.
Attendees were provided with fruits and juice to combat the heat.
Additionally, three “blood donors,” Dr. Vijay Mohan Singh, Rajeev Dutta, and Anand Mitra, dedicated their blood donations to the Kiranmai Utsav through SDP blood donation.
As part of the year-long initiative, the Prateek Sangharsh Foundation has lauded the thoughts, actions, and spirit of Shekhar Dey.
In a message, the Foundation said that it bows down to the late Kiranmayee Dey on her 100th birthday.
