Jamshedpur police investigating Mango Ismail Azad attack case, assure of prompt action

Jamshedpur:The city police are investigating the recent attack on Ismail Azad, a former member of the Tribal Workers’ Union (TWU), in Mango Azad Nagar.

The City SP, K Vijay Shankar, has assured that the culprits responsible for the attack will be arrested soon.

Azad, who is a close friend and childhood buddy of Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta, was shot by two bike-borne assailants while he was getting out of his car in the Azad Nagar police station area.

The attackers opened fire on Azad, seriously injuring him with a bullet in his shoulder.

The victim was then rushed to the TMH Hospital, where he is said to be out of danger.

After the attack, local residents expressed their anger and frustration towards the increasing prevalence of drugs in the area, which they believe is leading to an increase in such incidents.

They demanded that the police take strict action against the culprits and arrest them as soon as possible.

There were also reports of residents threatening to gherao the Azad Nagar police station if the culprits were not apprehended promptly.

Following the incident, the police reached the spot and began investigating the matter.

They are examining CCTV cameras footage in the area to identify the attackers and are scanning the footage to gather leads.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Banna Gupta has directed the SSP of the district to take immediate action and apprehend the culprits.

The incident has caused unrest among the local residents, and a large crowd gathered outside the TMH Hospital Friday night.

To control the situation, the Quick Intervention Team (QIT) was deployed throughout the hospital.

The City SP, K Vijay Shankar, visited the injured Azad at the hospital and assured the public that the matter is being thoroughly investigated.

The incident has once again brought attention to the rising crime rate in Jamshedpur, and the need for better law and order in the area.
