Warm welcome to Golden Girl Komalika Bari and coach Purnima Mahato

Komalika Bari won the Youth Archery World Championship in under-21 recurve category. She also won gold in the World Youth Archery Mixed Team category at the World Archery Youth Championship held in Poland. On her return home, the city gave her and her coach Purnima Mahato a warm welcome

Jamshedpur: A warm welcome was accorded to the Golden Girl and her coach on their return to the city after winning gold at the Archery Youth World Under-21. Komalika is a resident of Birsanagar, Jamshedpur.

Komalika became the second player who won gold in both Under-18 and Under 21 category archery.

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur’s Golden Girl Komoaika Bari and coach Purnima Mahto reached home after having won the world title in the Youth World Under 21 of Archery held in Poland.

They were warmly greeted on their arrival in the city.

Archer Komalika, a resident of Birsanagar, made history on foreign soil and brought glory to India.

She is the second player to win the world title in both Under-18 and Under-21 categories.

Earlier, the same feat was achieved by Deepika Kumari, a former cadet of Tata Archery Academy.

Komalika Bari defeated Elia Canales of Spain in the final of the recurve singles category of this world level competition held in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.

Komalika Bari was warmly greeted. Dinesh Kumar, Vice President of Jharkhand Archery Association and President of East Singhbhum Archery Association, felicitated Golden Girl Komalika Bari and Purnima Mahato by presenting a bouquet.

Dinesh Kumar said that Dronacharya Awardee Dharmendra Tiwari is ill and undergoing treatment in TMH and is in a serious condition.

Keeping this in view, the reception was knowingly organised in a modest way.

Soon a ceremonial felicitation program will be organised, he said.

During this, international coaches Harendra Singh, BS Rao, D. Saswari, Anil Kumar, Vikas Upadhyay, Surendra Kumar, Sumit Rao, Gaurav Rao, Ashok Samant and others were also present.
