Short Circuit Suspected in Fire Next to IDBI Bank, Emergency Services Respond
A significant fire incident occurred at Suraj Communication Distributor Point, located next to IDBI Bank on Dimna Road, under the Mango Ulidih police station in Jamshedpur, on Sunday afternoon.
JAMSHEDPUR – Suraj Communication Distributor Point, situated beside IDBI Bank near Dimna Basti on Dimna Road, experienced a severe fire on Sunday afternoon, reportedly caused by a short circuit.
The fire rapidly spread, causing alarm among the local residents.
Mohan Kumar, the owner of the store, revealed that he had been away to Baliguma just 15 minutes before the fire started.
Upon his return, he was shocked to find the store engulfed in flames, prompting immediate contact with the fire department.
A team of firefighters swiftly arrived at the scene and, after extensive efforts, managed to bring the blaze under control.
It is important to note that the store housed stocks of chocolates and biscuits from Cadbury, including both fresh and expired items which were to be returned to the company. Unfortunately, all goods were destroyed in the fire.
While a precise assessment of the loss has yet to be finalized, Kumar estimated the damage to be between Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh.
