Jamshedpur Faces Rising Cyber Crime Wave

Another Local Falls Prey to Job Scam, Loses Over 6 Lakhs to Cyber Fraud

A Jamshedpur resident becomes the latest victim of cyber crime, losing a significant sum to a fraudulent job offer.

JAMSHEDPUR – The city is grappling with an upsurge in cyber criminal activities, with a recent incident highlighting the trend.

Syed Shehzada Nadeem of Dhatkidih fell victim to a cyber scam, forfeiting Rs 6 lakh 36 thousand 267.

He was enticed by a fraudulent job offer promising a lucrative salary and commission.

The fraud was perpetrated through a message on the Telegram app by an entity named Data Raid on February 17.

Nadeem, holding accounts in Kotak Mahindra and SBI Bistupur, was deceived into transferring funds for a supposed job registration.

An initial deposit of Rs 10,000 led to a series of transactions, ending in significant financial loss.

Despite receiving small sums purportedly as profits, Nadeem ultimately discovered the deceit.

The scam involved payments to accounts under names like Sheikh Aziz Arif and Khaitan Shyam Enterprises Private Limited.

The Bistupur cyber police station has initiated an investigation following Nadeem’s FIR.

This incident marks the second cyber crime report in Jamshedpur on the same day, signaling a concerning trend in digital fraud.
