VHP Protests in Jamshedpur Over Hazaribagh Incident, Effigies of Officials Burnt

Vishwa Hindu Parishad Demonstrates Against Hazaribagh Stone-Pelting; Demands Government Accountability

Effigy burning at Baridih Chowk in Jamshedpur by VHP members adds heat to Hazaribagh bus attack; calls for immediate action against miscreants responsible.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) organized a demonstration at Baridih Chowk, expressing deep dissatisfaction over the government’s handling of the Hazaribagh incident, where a bus was allegedly stopped and stones pelted at women passengers.

Dharmacharya and Head of Jharkhand province of VHP, Sanjay Chaurasia, was notably present, accompanied by other leaders and members like Bajrang Dal coordinator of Jamshedpur district Munna Dubey and Durga Vahini organizer Babli Sonam.

Unimpressed with the three arrests made in three days, the demonstrators strongly condemned the appeasement and balancing policy adopted by the Hazaribagh Superintendent of Police.

Members burnt effigies of the Jharkhand government and Hazaribagh SP, claiming that a First Information Report (FIR) has already been registered against 50 named and 250 unidentified persons, yet the SP continues to offer statements instead of taking direct action.

Participating in the protest, Telco security chief Kanhaiya Pandey, office chief Sanjay Singh, and Birsanagar block officers and workers of Baridih displayed their disdain over the police inaction.

The VHP members reported the alleged use of abusive language and misbehavior with women on the bus when it was returning from the Dharma Sabha in Ranchi, the Jharkhand capital.
