In an initiative to clear garbage, JNAC will deploy a bio-mining technique at Sonari Marine Drive in East Singhbhum district.
JAMSHEDPUR – A new resolution has been passed to clear the garbage heap at Sonari Marine Drive in Jamshedpur, part of East Singhbhum district. In six months, this area, currently littered with waste, will be transformed, thanks to the bio-mining technique. This landfill area is set to be converted into a park or a ground.
The task of removing the 48,000 metric tonnes of garbage falls upon the shoulders of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC).
Sanjay Kumar, a Special Officer for JNAC, and Prashant, a Technical Director for Guru Ramdas Construction, have signed a contract in this regard.
The contract, which costs Rs. 4 crore 26 lakh, entails the diversion of approximately 48000 metric tonnes of garbage from the dumpsite, using resource recovery and bio-mining techniques. The company is expected to commence work within a week and complete the garbage removal process within six months.
This dump near Sonari Marine Drive has been the longstanding garbage collection point from municipal areas of Mango, JNAC, Adityapur, and Jugsalai.
Under this initiative, the waste will be converted into fertilizer or used as fuel. Metals recovered will be heated and solidified. Plastics will be recycled, and dumped waste will be converted into compost. The remaining waste, unfit for disposal, will be given to respective organisations for use in fuel production and road construction.
