Manik Malik’s organization, Seva Hi Lakshya, helps over 3000 families get free online ration cards, targeting transparency and combating corruption.
JAMSHEDPUR – Manik Malik, the President of Seva Hi Lakshya Sanstha, has taken a step towards eradicating corruption and enabling transparency in public services.
His initiative of providing free online applications for ration cards has aided over three thousand families across different localities in the past three years.
The initiative was launched with the objective of addressing the pervasive problem of needy families being overcharged for online application services and, often, still not obtaining their ration cards.
“The needy were roaming around the government, even then ration cards were not being made,” says Malik.
Through Seva Hi Lakshya Sanstha, families in various areas including Haludbani, Sarjamda, Shankarpur, Bedadipa, Ranidih, Harharguttu, Traffic Colony, Keenudih, Bodratola, Jharkhand Basti, Vidyasagar Palli, Ghaghidih, Pramodnagar, Gobra Tola, Kochakuli Kitadih, Jugsalai, and Namontola have been able to secure their ration cards, gaining access to government-subsidized provisions.
Malik stresses that the main goal of his organization is to ensure no one is deprived of this critical resource. “Service is the main objective of our organization,” he says, adding that applying online for a ration card not only saves time and money, but also helps bring transparency to the system.
Ration cards also serve as vital documents for availing benefits under many government schemes.
