Finance Minister Hoists Flag at Republic Day Celebration in Medininagar

Promises to Develop Palamu as a Tourism Hub and Strengthen Farmers’ Economy

State Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore emphasized Palamu’s tourism potential and pledged economic upliftment for farmers during the Republic Day event.

MEDININAGAR – The Republic Day celebration at the divisional headquarters in Medininagar’s Police Stadium witnessed grand enthusiasm. State Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore hoisted the national flag, inspected the parade, and extended greetings to the citizens of Palamu and beyond. Reflecting on the historical significance of the day, he paid tribute to the nation’s freedom fighters and Palamu’s rich cultural legacy, including figures like Nilamber-Pitamber and Medini Rai.

Tourism Development in Palamu

Minister Kishore emphasized Palamu’s immense potential for tourism development. Highlighting sites like Betla, Netarhat, Kechki, and the Malay Dam, he announced plans to integrate them into a comprehensive tourism circuit. The restoration of the dilapidated Palamu Fort was also prioritized, with plans to coordinate with the Archaeological Survey of India. “Tourism in Palamu will boost government revenue and create employment opportunities,” he stated.

Commitment to Farmers’ Welfare

Acknowledging the district’s drought-prone conditions, the minister underlined the government’s efforts to strengthen the economic situation of farmers. “Improving rural economies like Palamu is essential for a stronger state economy,” he remarked. Initiatives aimed at improving agricultural infrastructure and support for farmers were discussed.

Empowering Women Economically

The Chief Minister Maiya Samman Yojana, aimed at empowering women economically, was highlighted. The minister shared that ₹190.36 crore is being transferred monthly to over 7.6 lakh women in Palamu. “This is not just a scheme but a symbol of respect and empowerment for our daughters, sisters, and mothers,” he said.

The event saw participation from dignitaries like Divisional Commissioner Bal Kishun Munda, Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan, SP Reeshma Rameshan, and other officials. The minister concluded by urging citizens to actively contribute to Palamu’s development.
