MEDININAGAR – Medininagar Municipal Corporation has intensified actions against holding tax defaulters, sealing several establishments for overdue payments.
The municipal commissioner, Mohammad Javed Hussain, instructed officials to conduct a rigorous tax collection drive. Acting on these orders, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Bishwajit Mahato led a team to seal a government liquor shop near Sahitya Samaj Chowk for dues exceeding ₹1.55 lakh.
KGN Marriage Hall and Galaxy Inn Face Scrutiny
KGN Marriage Hall owed ₹3.21 lakh in holding taxes. Its owner, Nehal Ahmed, deposited ₹1.18 lakh on the spot. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Inn Hotel had not submitted its self-assessment tax forms. Following an inspection, the hotel was levied a holding tax of ₹6 lakh. Its management promptly paid ₹1.18 lakh, promising to settle the remaining amount soon.
Municipal Teams Ensure Enforcement
The drive, spearheaded by municipal officials, included thorough inspections and tax assessments. Present during the operations were Municipal Manager Satish Kumar, Samita Bhagat, Dilip Kumar, and others, alongside police personnel ensuring compliance.
