JAMSHEDPUR – The JRD Tata Sports Complex prepares to host its first-ever masters athletics championship along with the Great Jharkhand Run this Sunday.

Athletes from diverse age groups will showcase their skills. They range from 30 to 85 years.

Moreover, over 1,000 participants will compete in various events. The championship includes sprints, walks, and field competitions.

“This event marks a historic moment for Jamshedpur’s sports community,” stated a senior athletics official.

Comprehensive Event Details

Meanwhile, the organizing committee has arranged accommodation for traveling athletes. The venue spans across 22 acres of land.

Furthermore, each participant will receive special commemorative items. These include custom T-shirts and participation medals.

In addition, technical officials will oversee the competitions. The event has drawn experts from across the state.

Historic Significance

The JRD Tata Sports Complex opened in 1991. It has hosted several national events.

However, this is its first masters athletics championship. The complex features a FIFA-approved football field.

Moreover, the facility includes an Olympic-standard synthetic track. It received certification in 2019.

Race Categories and Prizes

On the other hand, the Great Jharkhand Run offers varied distances. These suit different age groups.

Meanwhile, cash prizes await top performers. The event promotes fitness across generations.
