JAMSHEDPUR – The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry began a two-day Monsoon Trade Fair 2026 on Monday. The event is being held at the Chamber Bhawan in Bistupur.

Organisers said the fair primarily seeks to promote women entrepreneurship. It also aims to support the local handloom industry through the two-day showcase.

The fair features an exhibition of various new products from different sectors. Besides that, it offers a platform for fresh business opportunities and networking among participants.

Anil Modi, associated with the organising body, said the event gives entrepreneurs and traders a chance to explore new products. He added that visitors would also get to understand emerging business possibilities during the fair.

“Entrepreneurs, traders and common people will get an opportunity to see new products and understand business possibilities,” Modi said, describing the purpose of the exhibition.

The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appealed to residents to attend the trade fair. It urged people to encourage women entrepreneurs and the handloom sector through their participation.

The event adds to a series of recent commercial and cultural activities held across Bistupur this month. A new furniture showroom by Arcura also opened nearby, with plans for a 5,000 square foot flagship store in the city.

Elsewhere in the city, a separate arts and crafts exhibition was recently launched. The cotton and silk expo at Sakchi Ambagan Maidan offered discounts on handloom products.

A new home interior experience centre also opened in the city this month. HomeLanes launched its third experience centre at Bindal Mall in Sonari, offering AI-based interior solutions.

Bank employees in the city have also been vocal about their demands recently. Staff staged a demonstration at the PNB Bistupur branch over pending issues earlier this month.

Meanwhile, a cultural evening celebrating traditional folk music was also held in the city. The event featured a Kajari singing performance by Padma Shri Urmila Srivastava.
