Activist Demands Cancellation of Tripartite Wage Agreement, Action Against Guilty

GAMHARIA – A dispute has erupted over a tripartite agreement recently signed at Vijayshree Autocom Limited, a company located in the Gamharia industrial area.
Social activist Rashmi Bhengra strongly objected to the agreement, describing it as a direct assault on workers’ rights. She alleged that the deal blatantly disregarded clear labour department orders and government regulations.
In a statement, Bhengra said a notification issued by the Jharkhand government’s labour, employment, training and skill development department on May 25, 2026, had strictly ordered that the revised minimum wage rate be implemented at all establishments across the state from April 1, 2026.
However, she said, in contravention of the government’s rules, the tripartite agreement signed among a JMM delegation, an ISRO representative and the company management agreed to implement the revised minimum wage only from August 2026.
Bhengra launched a sharp attack on JMM leaders over the matter, saying leaders of the ruling party were themselves flouting government orders while in power. She said if the increased wages are paid only from August, workers would be denied their wage hike for the preceding four months.
She described this as a direct assault on the hard-earned income of poor workers.
Bhengra said the agreement reached with Vijayshree Autocom exposes gross negligence and an anti-worker approach on the part of the company management, which she said warrants a fair investigation.
She demanded the immediate cancellation of what she called the illegal agreement, and called for the implementation of the increased minimum wage from April onward, as per labour department rules.
Bhengra warned that if workers are not given their rightful dues, and the minimum wage hike is not implemented retroactively from April, an intense agitation would be launched in the interest of the workers.
