JAMSHEDPUR – Rising electricity tariffs have triggered widespread protests and political escalation across the state.

Protests have spread across several districts over rising power costs. People from urban and rural areas joined demonstrations.

Meanwhile, traders and industrial groups expressed strong dissatisfaction with new tariffs. They said increased costs are hurting business operations.

However, farmers reported severe financial pressure due to higher electricity bills. They said irrigation expenses have increased sharply.

Meanwhile, demonstrations continued in areas including Ranchi. Protesters gathered on roads and raised slogans.

Moreover, political reactions have intensified amid growing public anger. The Bharatiya Janata Party criticized the state government.

Moreover, BJP demanded uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply across regions. They also asked for quick replacement of damaged transformers.

On the other hand, leaders criticized frequent power cuts during maintenance. They said such disruptions worsen public hardship.

Meanwhile, the party raised concerns over postpaid smart meters. They alleged arbitrary charges are being imposed on consumers.

However, the political climate continues to heat up across the state. Further protests are expected in coming days.
