JAMSHEDPUR – The Central Senior Citizens Committee organised a grand Holi Milan ceremony at Gandhi Ghat, drawing elderly participants from across the city to celebrate with colors, music and camaraderie.
The event was hosted at the historic and religious Gandhi Ghat. Senior citizens from various localities attended in large numbers.
The celebration began with flower petals and traditional abir-gulal. Participants greeted each other with festive wishes.
Soon, devotional songs and Holi melodies echoed across the venue. The atmosphere turned vibrant and joyful.
Several attendees shared memories of earlier celebrations. They recalled simpler times of neighbourhood bonding.
They described how festivals were once marked by warmth. Community participation was central to those gatherings.
Committee office-bearers addressed the gathering. They emphasised unity and mutual respect in society.
They said such programmes strengthened social harmony. Moreover, they highlighted the role of elders as custodians of values.
