Key Points:

  • Late Evening Fire Sparks Panic in Golmuri
  • Mobil Drums Catch Fire Inside Factory
  • Police Probe Suspected Sabotage Angle

JAMSHEDPUR – A fresh fire broke out at a cable factory in Golmuri late Wednesday, prompting emergency response and raising security concerns.

A major blaze erupted inside a cable company compound in Golmuri on Wednesday evening. Several fire engines rushed to the spot soon after alerts were received.

However, flames were still raging when this report was filed. Firefighters continued efforts to bring the situation under control.

Preliminary findings suggest possible sabotage inside the premises. An unidentified person is suspected of throwing a burning object.

As a result, stored mobil drums caught fire quickly. The flames then spread rapidly across the area.

Meanwhile, local sources said similar incidents occurred earlier. The company had suffered financial losses in past fires.

In contrast, this incident happened during a sensitive transition phase. The cable unit was recently acquired by the Vedanta Group.

Moreover, preparations to restart operations were nearing completion. Repeated fires have now raised serious security concerns.

On the other hand, police teams reached the location soon after the blaze. An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause.

Meanwhile, the fire department remained deployed late into the night. Officials focused on preventing further spread.

Earlier, a moving car fire in Golmuri triggered panic in the area. A warehouse blaze in Golmuri had also caused major losses.

Similarly, a house fire in Golmuri resulted in extensive damage. A factory inferno in Jamshedpur had earlier destroyed an abandoned industrial site.

Authorities have not reported any injuries so far. Further details are awaited as operations continue in Jamshedpur.
