JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel hosted an enlightening workshop on Biodiversity on Monday for its senior leadership.

More than 60 top executives from the steel behemoth participated.

The United Kingdom’s The Biodiversity Consultancy (TBC) orchestrated the event, featuring biodiversity experts Edward Henry Beattie Pollard, Stephanie Jade Harris, and Vineet Katariya as speakers.

The workshop aimed to offer a thorough comprehension of biodiversity and its pertinence to the modern global business environment.

It also spotlighted the rising expectations for companies in terms of biodiversity risk management.

Participants walked away with invaluable guidance on how to effectively manage biodiversity risks, accentuating the necessity to incorporate best practices within the organization’s framework.

Rajiv Mangal, Vice President of Safety, Health & Sustainability at Tata Steel, particularly stressed the crucial role of Natural-Based Solutions (NBS), Materiality exercises, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Mangal further reaffirmed Tata Steel’s unflinching resolve towards ethical and eco-conscious growth.

The gathering was also apprised of the gravity of adopting a nature-positive and net-zero environmental impact strategy, empowering attendees to gauge the company’s present standing and chart the essential steps to further this mission.
