JAMSHEDPUR – Devotees gathered in large numbers at Shiv temples across the city to perform Jalabhishek on the first Monday of the holy month of Savan.

Heavy crowds were witnessed at temples from early morning hours. Devotees started arriving before sunrise for prayers. Meanwhile, temple premises filled with worshippers throughout the day.

School children participated in the religious celebrations enthusiastically. They joined their families for traditional worship rituals. Moreover, educational institutions encouraged student participation in festivities.

Women and men arrived in significant numbers for Jalabhishek ceremonies. They carried holy water from various sources. Furthermore, devotees followed traditional customs during worship.

All major Shiv temples experienced unprecedented footfall during festivities. Temple committees had made special arrangements for crowds. However, managing the rush required additional volunteers.

“We have been preparing for weeks for this occasion,” said a temple official. Special decorations were arranged for Baba Bholenath. Besides, additional priests were deployed for ceremonies.

Devotees performed Jalabhishek with milk, honey and water. Sacred offerings included flowers, fruits and sweets. Moreover, traditional chants echoed throughout temple complexes.

The Savan month holds special significance for Shiv devotees. Monday worship during this period carries extra spiritual merit. Furthermore, believers observe fasting and special prayers.

Traffic management became challenging due to heavy footfall. Police deployed additional personnel near major temples. Meanwhile, alternate routes were suggested for commuters.

Temple authorities distributed prasad among all devotees generously. Free food arrangements were made for visitors. In addition, medical facilities were kept ready.

The celebration continued throughout the day with devotional singing. Cultural programs were organized at several temples. Moreover, community participation enhanced the festive atmosphere.

Young and elderly devotees participated with equal enthusiasm. Families came together for collective worship sessions. However, traditional values remained central to celebrations.
