JAMSHEDPUR – Former MLA Kunal Sarangi conducted relief operations in flood-affected Baharagora block villages following heavy rainfall that disrupted normal life across multiple panchayats.

Continuous heavy rainfall has created flood-like conditions in Baharagora block. Multiple panchayats including Patpur, Sakra, and Domjudi are experiencing severe waterlogging. However, agricultural fields have been completely submerged under floodwater.

Meanwhile, vehicular movement on roads has come to a standstill. In addition, several houses have reported water intrusion incidents. On the other hand, local residents are facing immense difficulties.

Former MLA and JMM central spokesperson Kunal Sarangi visited affected areas on Sunday. Moreover, he met with local villagers to understand their problems. Besides, he issued immediate instructions to Deputy Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Officer.

The administration has been directed to ensure relief materials immediately. Furthermore, shelter homes and food arrangements must be provided urgently. In contrast, families living in houses at risk of collapse need immediate evacuation.

Sarangi personally distributed food items among villagers. Additionally, he provided tarpaulins and plastic sheets to affected families. However, he emphasized the importance of collective support during crisis.

“This is the time to stand together,” said a local leader. Meanwhile, administrative officials and community members are providing maximum assistance. On the other hand, no one in need will face difficulties.

Tapan Ojha, Nirmal Dubey, Madan Manna attended the relief operations. Moreover, Sumit Maiti also participated in distribution activities. Besides, all workers cooperated in relief distribution work.

District administration is working with full alertness for villagers’ assistance. Furthermore, government buildings will be utilized as temporary shelters. However, this decision comes as precautionary measure for continued rainfall.

The affected panchayats are experiencing unprecedented waterlogging this season. In addition, crop damage has been reported extensively. Moreover, transportation has been severely impacted across the region.
