Maa Vindhyavasini Seva Samiti Begins Puja Pandal Preparations

Grand India Gate-Themed Durga Puja Pandal Planned in Sundernagar

JAMSHEDPUR – Maa Vindhyavasini Seva Samiti of Sundernagar conducted a ceremonial land worship for its Durga Puja pandal, marking the start of preparations for this year’s festival.

The ritual was performed with Vedic chants by priest Kripa Shankar Shukla, district council chairperson Bari Murmu, Central Durga Puja Committee general secretary Ashutosh Singh, district vice-chairperson Pankaj Sinha, former vice-chairperson Rajkumar Singh, social worker Shankar Reddy, and Purihasa panchayat head Poma Baske.

Committee patron Bari Murmu said this year’s pandal will take the shape of India Gate, designed to be grand and unique. It will be equipped with CCTV cameras, and committee members will ensure women’s safety during the festivities.

Ashutosh Singh noted that the pandal draws a large number of women devotees. He added that artisans from other districts have already started round-the-clock work to complete the structure. The puja will run for ten days with devotional rituals and a divine atmosphere.

Former district vice-chairperson Rajkumar Singh said special attractions are being prepared for devotees. The pandal at Sundernagar Jai Maa Shakti Kalyan Mandap is expected to become the main highlight. Built at a cost of several lakhs, it aims to showcase devotion, patriotism, art, and creativity.

General secretary Pappu Kumar Verma “Anmol” announced that from Mahalaya to Mahanavami, evening aartis will be held daily at 7 p.m. On Maha Saptami, Maha Ashtami, and Mahanavami, grand community feasts will be organized from noon to 3 p.m. In addition, the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris University will present a three-day spiritual tableau on the same days.

Committee leaders and members present included Santan Ojha “Bablu,” Kanhaiya Pandey, Rajnarayan Singh, Doodhnath Singh, president Vikas Singh, treasurer Jaykant Singh, Jai Krishna Mishra, Kamlesh Singh, Shailendra Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Ram Vinay Singh, Ram Ji Sharma, Tej Narayan Rai, Pappu Poddar, Arvind Saraiwala, Ghanshyam Singh, Ramakrishna Mishra, Bhavesh Prasad, Kanchan Ojha, Anoop Verma, Bharti Devi, Tara Singari, Geeta Singari, Usha Sharma, Nisha Devi, Neela Devi, Ujjwal Pathak, and Krishna Kumar.
