RANCHI – A horrifying incident in Kudu’s Jamuntoli village left the community in shock when a man was found burned alive in a haystack on the night of January 1. Police recovered the charred remains on Thursday morning and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

Discovery and Initial Suspicions

The body was discovered near Vinay Sahu’s ration shop, next to a haystack belonging to Charo Bhagat. Villagers identified the deceased as Pancham Oraon, 48, son of late Vijay Oraon from Akhratoli. Speculation suggests the accident occurred while the victim was warming himself by the haystack.

Background of the Deceased

Pancham Oraon, a well-educated individual with an intermediate degree, had fallen into alcohol addiction, which disrupted his life. Years ago, his wife separated from him due to his substance abuse issues. He had been living near the bus stand, working as a cleaner in local shops.

His presence in Jamuntoli at the time of the incident remains unclear. Local authorities are investigating to determine the exact circumstances leading to his tragic death.

Police Investigate Further

Police have intensified their efforts to uncover the truth. “We are examining all angles to ascertain whether it was an accident or foul play,” said a local officer. The incident has left residents concerned, urging a swift resolution to the mystery.
