Traffic Police Ban Parking Along Jubilee Park Road

Bamboo Barricades, Signs Installed to Ease Park Congestion

Key Points:

  • No-parking zone declared from Gate 1 to Russi Mody Centre
  • Move addresses heavy traffic due to seasonal picnic crowds
  • Violators face fines despite designated parking areas

JAMSHEDPUR – The traffic police have declared the road inside Jubilee Park a no-parking zone to tackle increasing congestion.

The initiative targets the stretch from gate number one to Russi Mody Centre. Authorities have installed bamboo barricades on both sides.

“We aim to maintain smooth traffic flow around the park,” stated a traffic police official.

Growing Challenges

December and January see increased footfall at the park. Visitors often park vehicles haphazardly along the roadside.

Moreover, the park’s beauty enhancement efforts face obstacles. Improperly parked vehicles hamper visitors’ sightseeing experience.

Previous Measures

The authorities had earlier repurposed dividers from Mango Bridge. These became permanent barricades along the park road in 2022.

However, two-wheeler riders continued violating parking rules. This led to persistent traffic problems despite the barriers.

Broader Initiative

The no-parking enforcement extends beyond Jubilee Park. It’s part of a citywide drive ordered by Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal.

Meanwhile, SDO Dhalbhum Shatabdi Majumdar leads the enforcement. The team inspects and fines vehicles in prohibited zones.

“Regular monitoring will ensure compliance with parking regulations,” added a senior traffic official.
