ADITYAPUR – Adityapur Municipal Corporation launched an anti-encroachment drive on Thana Road Thursday, removing several unauthorized structures. Following protests, the drive was paused for two days after intervention from JMM leaders.

The action was led under the instructions of Deputy Municipal Commissioner Parul Singh. Authorities cleared the area citing persistent traffic congestion caused by illegal structures. Singh revealed that repeated notices had been ignored, leaving the civic body with no choice but to proceed. She warned shopkeepers to vacate within two days or face renewed action.
JMM Steps In
Youth JMM leader Dabba Soren arrived at the scene and negotiated with police and municipal officials, requesting more time for shopkeepers. The temporary halt aims to allow shopkeepers to relocate voluntarily. However, traders expressed frustration, accusing officials of unequal enforcement, and demanded alternative spaces before complying.
Lingering Traffic and Safety Concerns
