Three Arrested with Firearm in Palamu, Sent to Jail

MEDININAGAR – Police in Palamu district’s Chhatarpur arrested three men on Monday night, seizing a country-made pistol and other items.

Acting on a tip-off, local law enforcement intercepted the suspects on a motorbike traveling toward Chhatarpur.

SDPO Awadh Kumar revealed in a press conference that authorities had been alerted around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, suspecting the men of planning a major crime in the area. Following the lead, Chhatarpur Police Station’s team, under the supervision of Officer Prashant Prasad, organized a vehicle check near the Untwa Dhonda area.

The suspects reportedly attempted to flee upon noticing police presence but were swiftly apprehended by officers. Police found a pistol, three live bullets, two mobile phones, and a blue motorcycle with registration number JH 03 F 8481 on the suspects.

The arrested individuals, identified as Niranjan Singh, Munna Singh, and Upendra Singh, are residents of Pindrahi village under Chhatarpur police jurisdiction.

Authorities said the arrested men were likely targeting a significant criminal act. “We believe they intended to commit a serious offense in the area,” stated an official present during the press briefing.

Involved in the successful operation were Inspector Prashant Prasad, Sub-Inspector Rahul Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajiv Kumar, Mithilesh Kumar Yadav, and several police personnel.

The suspects were taken into custody and sent to jail following an initial inquiry. Local police continue to investigate any additional criminal connections or planned activities by the individuals.
