JAMSHEDPUR – In a bid to enhance teacher-led research, the Tata Education Excellence Programme (TEEP) partnered with Mrs. KMPM Vocational College to conduct 12 workshops.

The initiative, aligned with India’s NEP 2020, aimed to equip teachers with research skills relevant to modern education.

The workshops began on August 8 and concluded on October 24.

A total of eight teachers from seven different schools participated.

Developing Research Acumen

Each workshop guided teachers in qualitative research methods.

A team led by Dr. Utpal Chakraborty, along with Dr. Meeta Jakhanwal and Shabnam Ali, provided expert instruction.

Principal Dr. Meeta Jakhanwal shared insights into research challenges and opportunities within educational contexts.

Meanwhile, topics included “Opportunities and Challenges of NEP 2020,” “Emotional Development in Young Learners,” and “Bibliotherapy for Emotional Intelligence.”

These research themes reflect NEP 2020’s emphasis on holistic student development.

On October 24, participants presented their research findings before a panel that included Dr. Vinayak Kishore from Tata Steel Foundation.

The TEEP initiative, started in 2003, enables schools in Jamshedpur to improve educational standards.

Mrs. KMPM Vocational College, founded in 2010, contributes to these goals with comprehensive resources for teacher training.

This program echoes NEP 2020’s aims for multidisciplinary, research-oriented teacher education.
