JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Foundation organized a workshop to equip local farmers with climate-resilient agricultural practices, promoting sustainable livelihoods in the region.

The one-day event took place at Tata Steel’s Sukinda Chromite Mine campus.

Over 200 progressive farmers from Sukinda, Bamnipal, and Kalinga Nagar participated.

Shambhu Nath Jha, Chief Mines, FAMD, inaugurated the workshop.

The program aimed to educate farmers on adapting to climate change challenges.

Experts shared insights on various topics related to sustainable farming.

Dr. Anshuman Pattnaik, former Additional Director of Agriculture, Govt. of Odisha, was a key speaker.

He discussed climate-resilient irrigation systems and water conservation techniques.

Dr. Biswanath Sahoo from CIWA-ICAR Bhubaneswar also contributed valuable knowledge.

His presentation focused on diversified farming as a climate change mitigation strategy.

Pankaj Satija, Executive-In-Charge of FAMD, emphasized the importance of empowering farmers.

He stated, "Our goal is to drive a positive shift towards climate-resilient agriculture in the region."

The workshop included practical demonstrations and hands-on learning opportunities.

Interactive discussions between farmers and agricultural experts were encouraged.

This event is part of TSF’s larger initiative to promote sustainable development.
