Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana: Jamshedpur Aims for 100% Coverage

Administration Pushes for Full Enrollment in Girls’ Education Support Scheme

District administration strives to ensure all eligible girls benefit from the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana, a state initiative for education support.

JAMSHEDPUR – The district administration is striving to guarantee that all eligible beneficiaries are fully covered under the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana, a state government initiative that promotes girls’ education.

Ananya Mittal, the District Magistrate, recently convened a video conference with district and block-level officers to evaluate the scheme’s advancement.

Representatives from the Social Welfare and Education Departments, as well as Block Education Extension Officers (BEEOs) and Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), were present at the meeting.

The program offers financial support to female pupils in grades 8-12 and those aged 18-19 who are pursuing further education.

Rs. 2,500 is awarded to girls in classes 8 and 9, while Rs. 5,000 is given to those in classes 10-12.

Students who are 18 or 19 years of age are awarded an additional fixed sum grant of Rs. 20,000 to facilitate their continued education.

Mittal evaluated the quantity of applications received in relation to the total number of eligible pupils during the review.

He instructed all school principals to submit certificates, which would verify that all eligible females were enrolled in the program.

The CDPOs were assigned the responsibility of re-verifying the eligibility of college-going females aged 18-19 to ensure that they receive the Rs. 20,000 grant.

The district has received 32,784 applications from various subdivisions, with a target of 55,000 beneficiaries.

Of these, 10,830 applications have been verified and submitted to the Social Welfare Office.

The project office is currently in the process of verifying the remaining 21,954 applications.

CDPOs and BEEOs were granted a one-week deadline to collect applications from any remaining eligible females.

District Magistrate Mittal underscored the significance of attaining complete coverage, asserting, "Our objective is to guarantee that no deserving girl is overlooked." This initiative has the capacity to revolutionize lives through education, and it is imperative that we make every effort to ensure that coverage is at 100%.

He cautioned that the officials in question would be held accountable if they were unable to achieve these objectives.
