Week-long NEP 2020 Anniversary Celebration Highlights Educational Innovation

S.D.S.M. School’s Shiksha Saptah showcases diverse activities promoting cultural heritage and educational goals in line with NEP 2020.

JAMSHEDPUR – S.D.S.M. School for Excellence concluded its week-long Shiksha Saptah celebration with a community-driven plantation initiative.

The event, held from July 22-28, 2024, commemorated the fourth anniversary of the National Education Policy 2020.

Throughout the week, students engaged in a variety of educational and cultural activities designed to foster holistic development.

The celebration kicked off with TLM Day, featuring age-appropriate workshops ranging from storytelling for younger students to puppet-making for older ones.

Day two saw the school community taking the NIPUN Pledge, emphasizing the importance of foundational literacy and numeracy.

Sports Day brought focus to indigenous games, with the school’s physical education teacher leading discussions and outdoor competitions.

Cultural diversity took center stage on the fourth day, with students, teachers, and parents showcasing folk dances and songs from across India.

"This celebration truly embodied the spirit of NEP 2020, blending traditional knowledge with modern skills," remarked a participating teacher.

Skilling Day provided hands-on experiences through field trips and workshops on practical skills like coding and first aid.

The week culminated in eco-friendly initiatives, including a plantation drive and awareness rally led by the school’s Eco Club.

Community involvement was a key theme, with parents actively participating in various events throughout the week.

The successful conclusion of Shiksha Saptah highlighted the school’s commitment to implementing NEP 2020’s vision of comprehensive education.
