Jamshedpur Youth Showcase Carrom Skills at CISCE Zonal Selection Trial

RMS School Hosts Thrilling Two-Day Event, Winners Advance to Regional Competition

The CISCE Zonal Carrom Selection Trial concluded with a display of exceptional talent from young players across multiple age categories, setting the stage for upcoming regional contests.

JAMSHEDPUR – RMS School Balichela witnessed an exciting conclusion to the CISCE Zonal Carrom Selection Trial, featuring intense matches and cultural celebrations.

The event attracted 259 participants from 22 CISCE schools in the Jamshedpur zone.

Players demonstrated their prowess in three age divisions for both genders:

• Under-14

• Under-17

• Under-19

A league cum knockout format ensured fair competition throughout the tournament.

Notable attendees included:

– Vibhuti D Adesara: Head Sports (Training Centres and Events), Tata Steel (Chief Guest)

– Dr. Hassan Imam Mallick: Manager, Tata Steel Sports Department

– Anup Kumar Singh: President, East Singhbhum Carrom Board Association

– Sanjay Kedia: President, Hindustan Maitri Sangh

The school management committee welcomed guests with plants and mementos.

Adesara commended the organizers and pledged support for future sporting endeavors.

“These young athletes have shown remarkable skill and determination,” remarked a local carrom enthusiast. “Their performances bode well for the future of the sport in our region.”

The competition featured both singles and doubles matches across all categories.

Victorious participants will advance to the regional competition at KPS Kadma from July 31 to August 2, 2024.

The event concluded with a traditional flag-lowering ceremony.

Principal Pratima Sinha accepted the flag from the school captain, officially closing the tournament.

Pranjali Pandey and Madhu Verma expertly managed the event proceedings.

Sanjay Kedia delivered the closing address and expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers.

The program ended with a rendition of the National Anthem, capping off two days of spirited competition.
