JNAC to Tackle Illegal Construction in Jamshedpur Following High Court Directives

Complaints Filed Against Alleged Unauthorized Activities in P&M Mall, Bistupur

The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) is preparing to address alleged illegal construction and encroachment, particularly in basement parking zones, following directives from the High Court.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has been directed by the High Court to address the issue of alleged illegal construction and encroachment, and is now prepared to take action.

There have been recent reports of unauthorized construction activities taking place in P&M Mall in Bistupur, which is causing new concerns.

Rakesh Jha, who had previously taken legal action by filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court, has now registered complaints with the JNAC and local administration.

Jha has submitted evidence, including photographs, to the authorities, but unfortunately, no action has been taken so far.

Under the leadership of former Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Piyush Kumar Sinha, the mall unfortunately had to be demolished due to unauthorized construction.

On the other hand, it appears that construction efforts have picked up again.

There have been concerns raised regarding the JNAC’s potential involvement in permitting construction in areas designated for environmental preservation.

JNAC Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar has assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted promptly.

He made it clear that any ongoing illegal construction will be dealt with accordingly.

It is strictly prohibited for any establishment or residential complex to encroach upon basement parking areas. Violators will be held accountable for their actions.
