Congress’s ‘X’ Account Reportedly Withheld in India Over Fake Amit Shah Video

The Jharkhand Congress’s ‘X’ account has been withheld across India amid the ongoing Lok Sabha election voting.

RANCHI – The social media platform ‘X’ has withheld the Jharkhand Congress’s account in India.

The withholding decision comes in response to the alleged sharing of a fake video involving Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The video, which went viral on social media, allegedly led to the suspension of the Congress’s ‘X’ handle.

Delhi Police summoned Jharkhand Pradesh Congress President Rajesh Thakur for questioning on May 2.

However, Thakur did not appear before the Delhi Police for the scheduled questioning.

Addressing the nomination rally of his party’s candidate in Dhanbad, he stated that he would seek legal advice before deciding on his response to the police notice. He also stressed that being a Congress soldier, he would not be scared by such shenanigans.

On Wednesday, Thakur held a meeting with state presidents of various party organizations and departments.

The meeting focused on discussing strategies and preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

The action taken by ‘X’ against the Jharkhand Congress’s handle was purportedly in response to a legal demand.

The ban has been implemented across India, restricting the party’s access to the social media platform.

The sharing of the alleged fake video has raised concerns about the spread of misinformation during election times.

The Delhi Police’s involvement in the matter highlights the seriousness of the allegations against the Congress party.

As the investigation unfolds, the Jharkhand Congress and its leadership face scrutiny over their social media conduct.

On the other hand, the ban on the party’s ‘X’ account has sparked discussions about the role of social media in political campaigns.
