Promoting Local Cultures and Biodiversity Through Art at Tata Steel’s Sukinda Events
The Tata Steel Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division has recently launched a new initiative, “Jaiba Kala Vividhata”, at their Sukinda Chromite Mine location, engaging local tribal communities through art to emphasize biodiversity conservation.
SUKINDA – The event, spanning three days, provided a platform for 50 local children and youth from the Mankidia and Juanga tribes to cultivate their artistic skills and express their cultural heritage.
Led by renowned local artists from Shilpi Niketan, the participants received practical training in various art forms, enhancing their creative expression and knowledge.
The workshop was part of Tata Steel’s ongoing commitment to environmental education and community involvement, focusing on the ecological richness of the area and the crucial role of sustainable practices.
High-level Tata Steel officials, including Shambhu Nath Jha and Devraj Tiwari from the mining division, participated in the event, showcasing the company’s dedication to community engagement and environmental stewardship.
Company said that this initiative is a testament to Tata Steel’s long-standing effort to integrate social responsibility with business operations, fostering a deeper connection between the tribal communities and environmental conservation efforts.
