EC Issues Notification for Election on 4 Seats in Jharkhand

Singhbhum, Khunti, Palamu and Lohardaga Ready for May 13 Polls, Four Jharkhand Lok Sabha Seats Open for Nominations

The Election Commission of India has announced the start of the nomination process for four Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand, gearing up for the elections scheduled on May 13. This marks the onset of a significant electoral phase in the state.

RANCHI – The Election Commission of India has set the wheels in motion for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand, with the nomination process now open.

The elections are slated for May 13, coinciding with the fourth phase of national voting.

The Lok Sabha seats involved include three reserved for Scheduled Tribes and one for Scheduled Castes.

Candidates may file their nominations until April 25, after which the papers will be scrutinized on April 26.

The final date for withdrawal of nominations is April 29.

Among the candidates, Geeta Koda, previously a Congress MP, is now contesting under the BJP banner from Singhbhum.

This seat, along with Khunti, Lohardaga, and Palamu, currently held by BJP members, will see intense competition.

In total, 63,99,582 voters are registered in these constituencies, including 32,12,549 men, 31,86,991 women, and 42 third gender individuals.

Palamu boasts the highest voter count at 22,27,365, followed by Singhbhum and Lohardaga.

Khunti has the fewest registered voters, numbering 13,12,261.
