Jamshedpur Officials Conduct Comprehensive Review of Lok Sabha Election Preparations

Emphasis on Prompt Handling of Cvigil Complaints, Upholding Model Code of Conduct, and Robust Vehicle Checks

In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar and Project Director ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary undertook a thorough review of election readiness for constituencies 47 Jugsalai, 48 Jamshedpur East, and 49 Jamshedpur West. The virtual review meeting emphasized the paramount importance of conducting free, fair, and transparent elections.

JAMSHEDPUR – As the nation gears up for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, officials in Jamshedpur have initiated a comprehensive review of election preparations to ensure the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.

Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar and Project Director ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary conducted a virtual meeting to assess the readiness of constituencies 47 Jugsalai, 48 Jamshedpur East, and 49 Jamshedpur West.

One of the key points of discussion during the review was the effective handling of complaints received through the Cvigil app.

Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar emphasized the need for prompt action on these complaints, stressing that they must be fully executed within the stipulated timeframe.

He made it clear that any negligence in addressing complaints would not be tolerated, and strict action would be taken against the responsible officers.

Moreover, if a decision is made to drop a complaint, a clear explanation must be provided to maintain transparency and accountability.

The meeting also highlighted the crucial importance of upholding the Model Code of Conduct throughout the election process.

Kumar instructed officials to proactively investigate any potential violations, rather than waiting for complaints to be filed through the Cvigil app.

He directed the Field Support Teams (FSTs) to take proactive measures, such as monitoring the presence of public representatives in various settings and ensuring compliance with advertisement regulations.

In line with these directives, officials were tasked with thoroughly scrutinizing hoardings, posters, and banners to ensure they have obtained proper authorization.

Any failure to secure prior permission for such materials would be considered a violation of the Model Code of Conduct and would invite appropriate action.

To further strengthen the electoral process, a robust vehicle checking campaign was proposed, focusing on inter-state and inter-district checkpoints.

This initiative aims to prevent the illegal transportation of money, drugs, liquor, or other illicit items that could potentially influence the elections.

The virtual meeting was attended by key officials, including ADM Law and Order Ananth Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rohit Sinha, and SDM Dhalbhum Parul Singh, demonstrating the collective commitment to ensuring electoral integrity.

As the Lok Sabha elections draw closer, these proactive measures underscore the authorities’ unwavering dedication to upholding democratic principles and safeguarding the sanctity of the electoral process in Jamshedpur and beyond.
