Authorities in Jamshedpur have investigated the encroachment of a drain between Jugsalai and Bagbera following complaints.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur’s Circle Officer and a team of officials have conducted an investigation into the encroachment of a drain situated between Jugsalai and Bagbera.
The inspection was prompted by complaints from River View Society President Praveen Singh, former District Council Member Kishore Yadav, and residents of Bagbera Naya Basti.
They reported that the encroachment has caused the drain to become blocked, leading to dirty water entering homes.
During the investigation, it was found that the drain had been encroached upon by Ranjit Jha, the Congress Secretary of Jamshedpur.
Residents alleged that Jha had also registered extortion cases against many people and used threats.
The inspection team, led by the Circle Officer, measured the area and uncovered several issues.
It was revealed that Kamakhya Tiwari, the society’s power of attorney, had sold more land than authorized and had sold the same plots to multiple buyers, causing disputes among them.
Additionally, it was discovered that Tiwari had sold government land, including the drain.
This has left buyers confused and frustrated, as they had saved money to build homes and are now facing legal and ownership issues.
One resident remarked, “We invested our savings in this land, and now we are left in uncertainty.”
This incident highlights the complexities and issues related to land encroachment and sales in the area.
