District Officials Initiate Key Electoral Preparations at Kitadih EVM Warehouse
In preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Jamshedpur has begun the physical segregation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) by constituency to promote transparency in the electoral process.
JAMSHEDPUR – The EVM segregation process kicked off in Kitadih, where District Election Officer Ananya Mittal supervised the sorting of machines, ensuring each is allocated to one of the six assembly constituencies within the district.
This meticulous organization, conducted from April 24 to April 28, is being carried out under the watchful eyes of representatives from various political parties, ensuring adherence to Election Commission guidelines.
The entire procedure is being recorded on video, adding an extra layer of accountability and transparency to the preparations.
Looking ahead, the next step involves the second randomization of EVMs on May 10, which will determine booth-wise allocations in the presence of political party representatives.
The electoral timeline is tightly scheduled, with the district’s notification for the Lok Sabha elections set for April 29, and candidates allowed to withdraw their nominations by May 09. Polling is planned for May 25, followed by the vote count on June 04 at Cooperative College, which will serve as the central hub for EVMs and counting activities.
The event saw the participation of several key officials, including Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar and SDO Ghatsila Sachchidanand Mahato, highlighting the collaborative effort to ensure a fair election.
