DEO Ananya Mittal Emphasizes Need for Prior Permission for Electoral Events

Meeting with Political Party Representatives Focuses on Fair and Peaceful Elections

In a crucial meeting convened by District Election Officer Ananya Mittal, representatives from various political parties were reminded of the importance of obtaining prior permission for all events and publicity initiatives related to the upcoming elections.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Collectorate Auditorium in Jamshedpur served as the backdrop for a significant gathering of political party representatives, as District Election Officer Ananya Mittal underscored the need for adherence to Election Commission of India guidelines to ensure a fair and peaceful electoral process.

The meeting saw the attendance of prominent officials, including Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, PD ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary, and ADM (SOR) Mahendra Kumar, among other esteemed guests.

Mittal emphasized the shared responsibility of all participants in preventing allegations and maintaining the integrity of the voting process, urging vigilance and compliance with established rules and regulations.

With the ongoing ‘Vote Mahotsav’ from April 7 to 9, Mittal called for cooperation in assisting new voters with filling Form 6 and raising awareness about the importance of exercising one’s voting rights to increase voter participation.

"Political symbols, candidates’ names, or slogans will not be permitted on mobile vehicles such as water tankers and ambulances," Mittal clarified, highlighting the need for political parties to disseminate information about changed booth names to facilitate a seamless voting experience.

Attendees were briefed on the various apps provided by the Election Commission, including the Suvidha App for obtaining permissions, the Saksham App for reporting violations of the Model Code of Conduct, and the C Vigil App for assisting elderly and differently-abled voters.

Mittal also stressed the requirement of pre-certification for all promotional materials across print, electronic, and online platforms to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the electoral process.

As the meeting drew to a close, all parties pledged their commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and working towards a fair and peaceful election.
