Court Stops Ranchi Police from Issuing Notices to ED Officers

In a significant development, the Jharkhand High Court has granted relief to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials in Ranchi, banning the Ranchi Police from issuing notices to them in connection with an SC/ST case filed by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

RANCHI – The case, registered at the SC/ST police station in Ranchi, named several ED officers, including Additional Director Kapil Raj, Assistant Director Devvrat Jha, Anupam Kumar, Aman Patel, and others as accused.

The High Court’s intervention comes after the Ranchi Police had sent notices to the ED officials following the registration of the FIR by Hemant Soren. The court’s order effectively puts a stop to any further notices being issued to the ED officials in relation to this case.

The FIR lodged by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the SC/ST police station in Ranchi has brought the actions of the ED officials under scrutiny. The case has raised questions about the conduct of the officers and the grounds on which the FIR was filed.
