The court emphasized the importance of having senior officers, at least of SP rank, file affidavits, rejecting submissions from lower-ranking officials.
During a recent hearing, the CBI disclosed that no significant actions had been taken in cases against MPs and MLAs over the past two years.
The court has directed the CBI and ED to prepare comprehensive affidavits detailing pending cases and measures to expedite trials.
It also stressed the necessity of timely witness testimony to ensure swift case resolutions.
The next hearing is scheduled for May 8, where the CBI and ED are expected to provide updates on their progress.
This scrutiny aligns with the Supreme Court’s directive aiming for quicker resolutions in criminal cases involving political figures.
