Jamshedpur police’s anti-crime initiative leads to the capture of two involved in illicit lottery sales, seizing over Rs 6 lakh in cash.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant breakthrough, Jamshedpur Police intercepted an illegal lottery operation in Parsudih, arresting two individuals and confiscating a substantial sum of money and lottery tickets.

The operation was halted when a red Renault Kwid, bearing the registration number JH 05 BT 9950, was stopped for inspection near the Parsudih police station.

The police discovered 17 bundles of lottery tickets valued at Rs 620,440 inside the vehicle.

The arrestees, identified as Raja Lakra and Chamo Samad, also known as Tanta, were found in possession of a purse and two mobile phones.

They admitted to engaging in the unlawful trade of lottery tickets between Sakchi, Bishtupur of Jamshedpur, and Chaibasa.

Further investigations have revealed additional suspects involved in this network, including Sikendra Yadav from Golmuri, K Nabi and Bapi from Sakchi, and Santosh from Bhuiandih, pointing to a larger racket.
