The surge in demand for Ramcharitmanas has led Gita Press to offer free online access to the Granth, as physical copies run out.

DESK – In a remarkable response to the overwhelming public demand for Tulsi’s Ramcharitmanas, Gita Press, Gorakhpur, has announced its inability to immediately fulfill the request for five lakh printed copies.

The surge in demand coincides with the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, sparking a cultural and religious awakening among devotees.

Gita Press has advised Ram Bhakts to turn to digital platforms, offering the revered Granth for free online reading.

This unprecedented situation showcases the enduring popularity and cultural significance of the Ramcharitmanas.

Lalmani Tripathi, the manager of Gita Press, confirmed the move to make Ramcharitmanas available online.

Starting Tuesday, devotees can download the epic for free, with provisions to accommodate up to 50,000 simultaneous users, potentially increasing to 100,000 if required.

This digital initiative follows the increased interest in the text due to the upcoming Sri Ram Lalla pran pratishtha in Ayodhya.

Gita Press, established in 1923 and renowned for its extensive publication of religious texts, has faced challenges in meeting the soaring demand.

Despite their efforts to distribute 1 lakh copies, the demand has far exceeded supply, with substantial orders from various regions including Jaipur and Bhagalpur being declined due to stock shortages.

The move to digital distribution marks a significant step in making religious texts more accessible to the masses, aligning with the contemporary trend of digital readership.
