Jamshedpur Schools Adjust Timings Amid Cold Wave

Chilly Weather Leads to Revised School Hours in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur experiences its coldest night yet; private schools modify timings as temperatures plummet and meteorologists forecast further drops.

JAMSHEDPUR – The city of Jamshedpur is grappling with a significant drop in temperature, resulting in the coldest night recorded this season on Monday.

Meteorologists have warned of even lower temperatures due to strong winds.

Despite the sunny conditions on Monday morning, residents felt the chill, leading many to seek warmth in sunbathing during the day.

As the evening approached, the cold intensified, making it particularly challenging for two-wheeler riders traveling at night.

The Meteorological Department recorded Monday’s highest temperature at 26.4 degrees Celsius, plunging to a chilly 11.4 degrees at night.

Humidity levels varied throughout the day, starting at 70 percent in the morning and decreasing to 64 percent by evening.

Experts from the Meteorological Department predict that the minimum temperature could drop to as low as 10 degrees Celsius in the next two days.

Responding to the cold weather, private schools in Jamshedpur have revised their schedules to ensure the comfort and safety of their students.

Kerala Samajam Model School has changed its operating hours from 7.55 am to 1.50 pm, a shift from its previous timing of 7.20 am to 1.40 pm.

DBMS Kadma High School now operates from 8 am to 2 pm, adjusted from its earlier schedule of 7.40 am to 1.40 pm.

Other schools like Dayanand Public School, Loyola School Telco, Gulmohar High School, Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya Telco, Shiksha Niketan High School, and Vivek Vidyalaya have also updated their timings, ranging from 7.45 am to 1.45 pm to 8 am to 2 pm, to adapt to the colder weather.

KPS Kadma’s new hours are now from 7.50 am to 2 pm.
