Jharkhand’s First 24×7 Animal Hospital Opens at Hesag in Ranchi

State’s Agriculture Minister Badal launches Adarsh Hospital with round-the-clock care and telemedicine services for animals.

In a pioneering move, Jharkhand inaugurates its first 24-hour animal hospital with telemedicine services, spearheaded by the Agriculture Minister and supported by a vision to establish a Veterinary University.

RANCHI – Marking a significant milestone in veterinary care, Jharkhand’s Agriculture Minister Shri Badal unveiled Adarsh Hospital in Hesag, setting a new standard for animal healthcare with 24*7 facilities and a video call-based telemedicine service.

At the Pashupalan Bhawan’s inauguration event, Minister Badal emphasized the government’s transformative efforts, highlighting the critical need for advanced veterinary care in the state and acknowledging the dedication of veterinarians operating with minimal resources.

The minister reflected on learnings from Kerala, aiming to elevate Jharkhand’s agriculture and animal husbandry sectors to similar heights.

The government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers and cattle rearers was reiterated, with ongoing initiatives to rejuvenate veterinary hospitals across 23 districts.

The introduction of mental counseling for animal farmers by doctors is expected to alleviate half of their challenges. In light of climate change’s impact on agriculture, animal husbandry is being positioned as a viable alternative business.

The state has bolstered farmers’ confidence by depositing a bonus for milk producers before Dussehra and is on the verge of launching 236 animal ambulances.

Additionally, 23 and 66 new veterinarians have been recruited, with further appointments on the horizon.

The Secretary of Agriculture, Mr. Abu Bakar Siddiq, stressed the importance of prompt response to ensure the success of telemedicine services, advocating for technological savviness in the veterinary field.

Meanwhile, the Director of Animal Husbandry, Shri Aditya Ranjan, outlined the ambitious plan to revitalize 100 hospitals across the state in phases, with Adarsh Hospital being fully equipped for surgery and pathology.

A two-day training workshop for doctors, featuring out-of-state experts, signifies the state’s commitment to continuous professional development in veterinary care.

The event concluded with the recognition of veterinarians who have demonstrated exceptional service with limited resources.
