Jamshedpur Police Arrest Eight “Chaddi Baniyaan” Gang Members

In a successful operation, Jamshedpur police arrest eight notorious "Chaddi Baniyaan" gang members, including women, believed to be behind recent thefts.

JAMSHEDPUR – The local police have made a significant breakthrough by arresting eight members of the infamous "Chaddi Baniyaan" gang.

The gang is notorious for breaking into houses in Jamshedpur and neighboring areas. Among the arrested are women members of the gang.

The suspects in custody include Lal Singh alias Kale, a resident of Guna district in Madhya Pradesh, Fateh Singh from Bhopal, Jwala Mukhi, Manjit Pardi from Ashok Nagar, Mangal alias Mangilal Pardi, Vicky Bogiya alias Vicky Ram Singh from Vidisha, Kuiya Bai alias Geeta Bai and Sanjay Mukhi, a resident of Burmamines Carriage Colony.

The police also managed to recover many stolen items following leads provided by the arrested gang members.

Multiple Thefts Linked to the Gang

According to station in-charge Prabhat Kumar, the accused had reportedly committed theft in Bagbeda on the night of June 3. Further incidents of theft took place near Birsanagar Gudiya Maidan on June 15, and at two houses in Chakulia on June 30. The gang members were apprehended while planning a robbery in Burmaines.

Modus Operandi of the Gang

Prabhat Kumar elaborated that all the arrested individuals were connected to the notorious vest gang and were known as Gulgulias. The gang members were known to roam and steal in the area. Female members of the gang played a crucial role by conducting surveillance of the area under the pretense of selling balloons and relayed the information to their male counterparts. Following this, other gang members would break into the houses to carry out thefts.

Implications for Local Security

With the arrest of these gang members, the local police anticipate a reduction in theft incidents in the area. The success of this operation provides a sense of security to the local residents, knowing that the police have managed to apprehend the individuals behind the recent spate of thefts.
