Bokaro’s contractors rally against Bokaro Steel Plant Management for implementing new rules causing economic and mental stress.
BOKARO – In a dramatic turn of events, contractors have opened a front against Bokaro Steel Plant management.
The main accusation is that Bokaro Steel Management is causing economic and mental distress to the contractors of Bokaro district by implementing new, restrictive rules.
These regulations have reportedly created a state of economic uncertainty, even starvation, for the laborers and their families associated with these contractors.
Jagdish Chaudhary, President of Bokaro District Contractors Association, led a protest today where all the contractors of Bokaro district participated, voicing their concerns against the management.
This protest saw them organizing a press conference at the Evergreen Resort, aiming to bring wider attention to their plight.
During this conference, Jagdish Chowdhary addressed the media, stating that the contractors have informed the management about their 10-point demands and have insisted on concrete action to resolve these issues.
He added that the management appears to be employing various tactics and rules to harass the contractors, even inviting external companies to work at arbitrary prices, preventing the contractors from working within the plant.
He stressed that this exclusion is depriving them of their livelihood, causing hundreds of laborers and their families associated with the contractors to face potential starvation.
He concluded with a warning that without their workforce, the plant operations could be disrupted, a scenario for which the Bokaro Steel Plant management would be responsible.
