ADITYAPUR – Adityapur police station, in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, successfully prevented a major ATM theft on Friday night.

Acting on confidential information received around 1:30 am, the police team managed to save an HDFC Bank ATM situated in Shivranjani Apartment Complex on the main Tata-Kandra road.

Station In-charge Rajan Kumar, along with ASI Raju Rana, MD Shamim, Havaldar Shiv Vachan Yadav, driver Harishchandra Tiriya, and members of the Tiger Mobile, quickly responded to a tip-off.

The team efficiently surrounded the premises, arresting three criminals in the act.

The arrested suspects, identified as R Jha, P Singh, and D Singh, are understood to be from the RIT police station area and S-type residences.

Kumar stated that his team promptly secured the area from Ashiana Chowk to S Type Chowk after receiving the news of the attempted theft.

Upon reaching Shivranjani apartment, the three individuals who had broken into the HDFC Bank’s ATM were apprehended.

He added that the suspects had previously attempted to rob another ATM unsuccessfully before targeting HDFC Bank’s ATM, where they were ultimately captured.

Kumar raised concerns over the absence of a security guard at the ATM and criticized the bank’s disregard for night service security.

He noted that discussions will be held with bank officials on Saturday, urging them to implement necessary security measures.
