District administration sends notices to 23 employers for failing to register on the Jharniyojan portal as per Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2021.
JAMSHEDPUR – The district administration in Jharkhand has demonstrated its strictness by issuing notices to 23 employers in the area.
The notices, ordered by Deputy Commissioner Smt., demand the employers to register their workers on the Jharniyojan portal within three days or face penalties.
It’s notable that the Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2021 and Rules, 2022 are effective across Jharkhand from 12 September 2022.
Under this law, all private sector employers, outsourcing agencies, establishments, shops, and institutions providing services in all private and government offices where 10 or more workers are employed, were mandated to register within a month and enter the data of working personnel on the Jharniyojan portal within three months.
Despite the laws, registration has not yet been accomplished by the 23 employers/establishments including, J.K.Residency, Hotel Sagar, Shourya Inn Premium Boutique Hotel, Linde India Limited, Jharkhand State Building Construction Corporation Limited, Tata Main Hospital & Clinics, Axis Bank Limited, and ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited among others.
Non-compliance with the rule of mandatory registration of the establishment and personnel is deemed a violation, leading to a penalty between Rs. 25,000/- to a maximum of Rs. 1,00,000/-. Hence, the notified employers must comply within three days or face fines, and other employers under the Act are also warned to comply or face action as per rules.
